As a non-developer, you can help develop and improve Mixxx by:
If you are a software developer here is how to get involved:
  • You don't have to know C++. There are developers who got into Mixxx development while learning C++ along the way
  • Join our mailing list: mixxx-devel
  • Join our IRC channel, #mixxx on Freenode.
  • Tell us your ideas! Email us, talk on IRC, or post on the forums.
  • Register an account on Launchpad and get our code from GitHub. See our Git Tutorial
  • Get familiar with the code. Pick a bug off of the Easy Bug List
  • Get help fixing the bug on IRC, talk to us about the best way to do it.
3 Easy Steps:

It's as easy as that!

I would like to contribute to the Mixxx development, but need a little help. I've followed the link to LaunchPad...followed the "code" link to https://github.com/mixxxdj/mixxx and I've signed up for an account on GitHub...now, which one do I download for Windows based systems? Is there one core file to download to get Mixxx or several?

Yeah, noob question...but just need a little nudge in the right direction :)

Thanks!

You should find here everything you need. If not, ask on Zulip.

mixxx-release-2.2.3.build_log.txt
Terminal capture on AARCH64 - Odroid N2 4gb Ubuntu 18.04 LTS
(1.99 MiB) Downloaded 143 times

I am NOT a programmer but can compile from sources if I can get help debugging errors.

My OS is Linux especially Ubuntu Studio (meta in repository) which would include mixxx.
I have a 32 bit Windows 10 dual boot on Insignia Atom cpu Flex 11.
Also have System 76 built only for Linux Ubuntu (Studio and PopOS added)

Now am migrating to ARM architecture with various devices.
Compiles to error attached on AARCH64 6 core in 20 minutes.

Code: Select all
scons: *** [lin32_build/waveform/renderers/glslwaveformrenderersignal.o] Error 1
scons: building terminated because of errors.

Latest is Amlogic S922X on Odroid N2 4GB running eMMC Ubuntu 18.04 LTS.
I am able to build from sources at https://github.com/mixxxdj/mixxx/releases

I downloaded first as buildserver describe using git at https://www.mixxx.org/wiki/doku.php/compiling_on_linux
Code: Select all
git clone -b 2.2 https://github.com/mixxxdj/mixxx.git

It failed so used later
https://github.com/mixxxdj/mixxx/archiv ... 2.3.tar.gz

See attached for terminal capture and cut/paste

Minor progress testing newer release on Odroid N2 Pro by others but not working with Mixxx yet for me.

You will need to register and may I suggest buying this really fast and inexpensive device.
Aprox $150 in USA at Ameridroid for 4 GB and eMMC 32 GB with USA power plug USB Wifi and Bluetooth.
Together with the Numark Party Mixxx system is under $400 (keyboard mouse and monitor added $100+)

Here is the discussion link.
and
my mention specifically of Mixxx as part of Ubuntu Studio

PM me at user Cool Games Net for part numbers in USA.
