Keyboard Mapping (how to edit)

Postby thebrown1 » Sat May 08, 2010 4:49 pm

Greetings,
I understand that one must go to the folder Mixxx>keyboard>Standard.kbd to remap the keyboard functions, but I don't know what app to use to edit and then the appropriate verbiage :? When I opened it with Notepad it had some strange symbols and such that I couldn't make sense of it
Just so everyone understands what I am ultimately trying to accomplish: I am going to remap the keyboard [only because the default mapping doesn't match the online tutorial's assertion] and then use Xpadder to trigger those keys with a Saitek Cyborg 3D joystick
Thank you in advance for any feedback you provide 8-)

The Standard.kbd.cfg is a simple textfile.

You are running Mixxx on Windows?
Open the file with a decent editor like NotepadPlus or PSpad.

Just edit,save and restart Mixxx.

Make a backup of the original Standard.kbd.cfg first.
The Mixxx Manual, Wiki and FAQ are the best place to start for documentation and support.

Hi,

is this still the way for mixxx 1.9.0?
I was wondering there is no longer a /usr/share/mixxx ? Is there something wrong with my installation?

Actually, in my computer, the Standard.kbd.cfg is there at /usr/share/mixxx

And I'm using Linux Mint X, with Mixxx 1.9 form the Launchpad repository
I am also known as altiplΛne, this is my music

Solved:
The mapping-path for mixxx-1.9.0 seems to be

/usr/local/share/mixxx/keyboard

not
/usr/share/mixxx/keyboard.
