invert channel fader with sharp cutoff

Postby oldskoolbob » Fri Dec 20, 2019 11:27 am

hi, I`m looking to invert a channel fader with a sharp cutoff for scratching. The crossfader is broken on my numark Mixtrack pro.

I can invert the fader in the input mapping setting. However, the curve is still the same.

do I have to scale the midi or something.

this is to do Joe Cooley like scratching.

Best

Mixxx only offers the options that you have there.

But in your case, since you want to change the behaviour on a controller, you have the option to modify the javascript file for the controller, and change how the control sends the information to Mixxx.
In other words, you are able to do it modifying the script yourself.

I added the script to the js file and mapped it to the channel 1 volume fader slider in the xml file also. Could not get anything to work though.
I think I need to scale down the midi volume value somehow.

I just need a very fast curve on the midi volume fader and to invert it.

script.absoluteLin = function (value, low, high, min, max) {
if (!min) {
min = 0;
}
if (!max) {
max = 127;
}

if (value <= min) {
return low;
} else if (value >= max) {
return high;
} else {
return ((((high - low) / (max-min)) * (value-min)) + low);
}
}

I could map the crossfader to one of the line faders on the Mixtrack pro. Since I don't have a working crossfader.
