I can't install Mixxx 2.2.2 (Ubuntu Studio 19.04)

Postby E-Shine » Thu Oct 03, 2019 3:03 pm

Hello everyone :

As you already know by reading the title, I have problems with installing Mixxx 2.2.2...
I use Ubuntu Studio 19.04 and I had Mixxx 2.2.0.
I installed Mixxx's official PPA but I can't find this version using sudo apt-get install. If I use it without specifying any version, it will install 2.2.0 back automatically.
If I try to specify a version number, I find nothing, and even if I copy the version number from the history, it says the package was not found.
So I tried to install it with the .deb file...and it doesn't want...
As soon as the software manager opens, it already warns me that there is "no included repository" and that the software will not be updated.
And when I click on "install" anyway, it tells me : "The following packages have unmet dependencies" and doesn't install.

Any clue for me to install version 2.2.2 ?

Thank you by advance !

Please verify that you are on the right ppa as described here: https://www.mixxx.org/download/

It has 2.2.2 builds, see here:

I believe you need the "libprotobuf-lite10" package to install Mixxx 2.2.2. This is not included for Ubuntu 19.04, but you can install it manually by downloading it from here: https://packages.ubuntu.com/bionic/amd6 ... buf-lite10

After you installed that, you should be able the install Mixxx 2.2.2 from the .deb file.

This bug already has been reported: https://bugs.launchpad.net/mixxx/+bug/1827265

Hope that helps :)
