Mixing with streaming audio and/or browser windows

Hi All,

I have a project where I want to DJ with streaming audio that is being played live on various websites.

For example, I want to mix http://91.121.165.88:8116/stream on one channel and http://listen.ntslive.co.uk/stream on another channel.

Currently, I do this by using two different laptops hooked up to a DJ mixer.

Is it possible to do this with one laptop?

I came across this and wondering if this can be used with Mixxx or any other DJing software.

Mixxx only supports playing files (which can be on local disks, USB drives or mapped networked drives). It cannot play internet addresses.
As for loopback, there are a few solutions for that. This is one of them. Another is Virtual Audio Cable. On linux, the best thing is jack.

Said that, what is the point wanting to mixxx two live streams? You cannot decide when it starts, you cannot change the speed. It could be possible to slightly seek on the track only if there's a small audio buffer and the player knows know to properly use it..., but other than that, what you describe is simply choosing one stream or another rather than mixing.

Since the other guys answered this for Mac and Linux, I'll throw you an answer for Windows:

Rocket Broadcaster lets you broadcast/stream live whatever you're hearing on your Windows PC, so you could have those two streams open in two web browser tabs and it'd broadcast that. Check it out: https://www.rocketbroadcaster.com

(Disclaimer: I'm the developer of Rocket, but I used to be a Mixxx developer too! :))
