Two headphones cue - Two independent controllers

Postby djinet » Thu Jul 25, 2019 1:37 pm

Hi,

I would like to know if there is the possibility of connecting and mapping 2 controllers to Mixxx, so that the pre-listeners of each one can be routed independently, so that 2 djs could be preparing/playing music simultaneously, but at the same time autonomously.

Thanks in advance

Unfortunately this is not possible. You can either trade headphones back and forth, use a headphone splitter cable to connect two sets of headphones to one jack, or use two computers and mix the output of the computers.
I heard FLAC and I haven't gone back.

It is possible, only if you use two external mixers and using the deck outputs directly instead of the Mixxx master and headphones.

Of course, it is an unusual setup and you would still need to (probably) edit the controller mappings (or use those that can select which of the 4 decks to control) so that they could actually use the same instance of Mixxx at the same time.

Basically, it is an unusual thing to have two independent headphones outputs.

For what it is worth, I have passed headphones back and forth when sharing my computer. It is a bit tedious, but it works.
