Hi Be, thanks for the reply. I have about 8,000 tracks, and it might be OK. I tried to clone the library redesign branch, but I couldn't build it, Even when I tried to install the dependencies manually, the dependencies had unavailable dependencies.

Is there a deb anywhere for this branch, or should I try again to compile from source? I'm on Ubuntu 18.04. Thanks.

Can you paste some of the errors you see when trying to build that branch? That branch has not been worked on in a while and it's possible some new #include statements might be needed for newer Qt versions. Are you able to compile the master branch or 2.2?

Thanks for the reply. Here's what I get when I try to compile. And when I install the required packages, I get this:

Code: Select all
The following packages have unmet dependencies:
libcheese8 : Depends: gstreamer1.0-plugins-good (>= 0.11.0) but it is not going to be installed
portaudio19-dev : Depends: libportaudio2 (= 19.6.0-1) but it is not going to be installed
Depends: libportaudiocpp0 (= 19.6.0-1) but it is not going to be installed
E: Error, pkgProblemResolver::Resolve generated breaks, this may be caused by held packages.

OK I finally got the branch to compile, and I can launch it and see that it has a different library, with breadcrumbs and a different library navigation bar. However, there doesn't appear to be a way to create subcrates. Is it possible that this feature is not in the library redesign branch, after all? Where did it go?

OK, this is great. If I have ideas or suggestions, should I put them here, or in the branch conversation on Github?

Haven't had that problem yet, and if I did, it would still be worth it. Subcrates are the best. Now I just need to figure out how to organize my playlists...

It rules. Well worth the hassle. That branch is behind master, though, so you'll lose some stuff like playing backwards over swears.
